I might help to remember that the situation is exactly opposite of what your intuition might tell you. For instance, with FOB Destination, you might assume shipping costs are paid at the “destination” since that’s included in the term. They aren’t. Use (and substitute) parts of the rest of the term: “shipping is Free to those at the Destination.” FOB Destination means the seller—not the buyer—is responsible for transportation costs. Likewise with FOB Shipping Point: “shipping is Free to those at the Selling Point”—the buyer pays the transportation costs.
